LAWYER

Employment and Labour Lawyer, 3–5 YEARS

Levitt Sheikh seeks two Employment and Labour Lawyers to join our dynamic and growing team managing both employer and employee files. You will be given the opportunity to develop your own practice while learning from and assisting highly experienced Senior Partners in complex employment litigation and providing advice to national and international clients on employment and labour related matters. You will also have the opportunity to participate in various media platforms and mediums to discuss and analyze current employment and labour legal issues.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

The law firm of Levitt Sheikh is hiring a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to manage and oversee the administrative, marketing and financial business for the Firm, reporting to the Firm’s Senior Partner. The role of the COO requires strong leadership skills and an understanding of professional service delivery (legal or accounting services would be an asset), including the ability to deal with efficiency and productivity matters. This position will run all administrative functions of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruits hire and introduce lawyers and articling students and staff to the Levitt Sheikh environment
  • Manages the performance review process
  • Delegates duties to employees
  • Terminates employees as necessary
  • Provides input to firm budgets and reviews financial performance with CFO
  • Works to resolve any dispute, whether internal or external
  • Builds and nurtures relationships with potential recruits and potential business partners
  • Researches and oversees potential collaborations
  • Works with Senior Partner to ensure effective execution of advertising campaigns and other promotional activities.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Provides excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Possesses background in business, HR, finance and IT
  • Awareness of the LSO Articling Recruitment Procedures
  • Demonstrates ability to manage time efficiently and multi-task effectively
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills
  • Displays solid organizational skills
  • Is capable of formulating and maintaining a network of clients and business contacts
  • Communicates clearly and effectively
  • Proficiency in basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to think creatively and analytically
  • Possesses strong problem-solving skills
  • Knowledgeable about law firm services and billing practices
  • Willing to take accountability for deliverables and performance.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related field is required
  • MBA is strongly preferred
  • Extensive work experience and some exposure to legal services delivery is preferred.

Work Environment

  • The position is in the office on a full-time basis
  • Work hours will vary depending on client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the firm
  • The environment is fast-paced and results-oriented.
